Polylithionite with Natrolite, Mont St. Hilaire
A very nice specimen of the unusual lithium mineral Polylithionite with Natrolite from historic Mont St. Hilaire, Quebec, Canada.
Polylithionite is KLi2AlSi4O10(F,OH)2. The name is from the Greek poly, meaning many or much, and in allusion to its LITHium content.
Natrolite, sodium aluminum silicate, has a formula of Na2[Al2Si3O10•2H2O. It's name is from the Greek natron, "soda," in allusion to it's sodium content and lithos, "stone."
Measures 3.3 x 2.3 x 1 centimeters.
