A sharp specimen with gemmy yellow Prehnite crystal clusters from the Merehani Hills, Lelatema Mts., Arusha Region, Tanzania.
Prehnite is a basic Calcium aluminum silicate, sometimes with some iron. It has a formula of Ca2Al2Si3O10(OH)2. It is named for an 18th century Dutchman, Colonel van Prehn, who first brought specimens to Europe from South Africa.
Measures 3.2 x 2.6 x 2 centimeters.
