RARE Mining relic! "Native" Copper on Mine Timber, Arizona

Here is a really unusual item, a piece of Mine Timber with "Native" Copper grown on it, the result of years of acidic, copper-rich solution percolating through the ground and precipitating Copper onto the wood. This item is from the West Pit of the Ray Mine in Pinal County, Arizona. The only other place I know of where this has occurred are the old Roman copper mines on the Island of Cyprus.

Measures 3 1/8 x 1 1/2 x 1 inch.
