Rhodochrosite, Sunnyside Mine, Silverton, Colorado
A very nice miniature specimen of pink Rhodochrosite crystals with a bit of Sphalerite and Pyrite from the long-closed Sunnyside Mine near Silverton, Colorado.
Rhodochrosite is manganese carbonate, with a formula of MnCO3. The name is from the Greek words rhodon meaning “rose”, and chros meaning “color”.
Measures 3.3 x 2.5 x 2.3 centimeters.
