Ruby, Purple-Red Crystal, India
A very nice purple-red hexagonal Ruby crystal from Mysore, India.
Ruby is aluminum oxide, with a formula of Al2O3. The name Corundum is from
kuruntam, a Tamil word derived from Sanskrit.
Measures 1 1/4 x 1 1/16 x 15/16 inches.
