Segnitite with Mimetite, Rare arsenate, Mina Ojuela, Mexico
A nice specimen of the rare arsenate mineral Segnitite with associated gemmy tan Mimetite crystals from a very small recent find at the Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico.
Segnitite is PbFe3H(AsO4)2(OH)6. It was named for E. Ralph Segnit (1923-1999), mineralogist and petrologist, University of Adelaide, Australia, for his contributions to Australian mineralogy.
Measures 3.3 x 2.7 x 2.6 centimeters.
