A beautiful specimen of bright orange Spessartine Garnets on a gemmy smoky Quartz crystal from Fujian, China.

Spessartine Garnet, the manganese-aluminum variety of Garnet, has a formula of Mn3Al2Si3O12. It is named after an occurrence in the Spessart district of Bavaria, Germany.

Quartz,Silicon dioxide, has a formula of SiO2.  The name is from the German quarz, origin uncertain.

Measures 4 x 4 1/4 x 1 3/4 inches.
