A large and beautiful crystal of yellow Spodumene var. Hiddenite from Mt. Kheritha, Kala Dharipeche, Kunar Province, Afghanistan.
Spodumene has a formula of LiAlSi2O6. The name is from the Greek spodoumenos, "burnt to ash", in reference to it's ashy color. Uncolored Spodumene is used as a source of Lithium, and Kunzite and Hiddenite are used as gemstones.
Measures 11 x 3 x 1.3 centimeters.
