A beautiful gem crystal of purple Tanzanite from the Umba Valley, Arusha, Tanzania.

Tanzanite is a variety of Zoisite, a calcium aluminum silicate,
with a formula of Ca2Al3Si3O12(OH). The name is from it's type locality, Tanzania.

 

Measures 2.2 x 0.8 x 0.7 centimeters.
