Titanite, Green-brown Twinned Crystal, Pakistan

Nicely formed, sharply twinned lustrous green-brown Titanite (Sphene) crystal from Arondu, Basha Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.

Titanite (Sphene) is TiO2. Named for it's Titanium content, is an ore of Titanium. Titanium is widely used as an alloy due to it's very high melting temperature, and recently has become popular in jewelry.

Measures 2.5 x 1.2 x 1.0 centimeters.
