Voglite, Rare Copper-Uranium Carbonate, Utah
A nice specimen of the rare Copper-Uranium carbonate mineral Voglite from the White Canyon #1 mine, Frey Point, San Juan County, Utah.
Voglite has a formula of Ca2Cu(UO2)(CO3)4•6(H2O). It was named after Josef Florian Vogl, an Austrian mining official and mineralogist, who first described it.
Measures 5.7 x 4 x 1.2 centimeters.
