Wulfenite, Unusual Dogtooth Crystals, Mapimi, Mexico
A beautiful specimen of unusual bipyramidal ("dogtooth") Wulfenite crystals with beautiful silky green Mimetite from a small new find in the Los Compaños Area, Level 7, Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico.
Wulfenite is a Lead Molybdate, with a formula of PbMoO4.
The name is in honor of the Austrian mineralogist Franz Xaver von Wulfen (1728-1805).
Measures 2 1/4 x 1 1/4 x 1 1/8 inches.
